Mayor
Sid Leiken Mayor Sid Leiken was born in Roseburg where his family owned and operated timber and building development companies. His family eventually moved to Eugene where he graduated from South Eugene HS. He went to college at both University of Texas/Arlington and ended at Northwest Christian College, where he served as a member of the Board of Trustees. His civic duties included serving on the Springfield budget committee, the Springfield City Council and is currently in his third term as Mayor. Today the city is enjoying the greatest economic boom in its history, which includes over one billion dollars in new investment in our city, surpassing one of his personal goals. Thousands of new jobs have been created since 2001. He serves on several boards and commissions and recently started a consulting business. His employment background includes that of a small business owner, an owner in his family’s development company and a bank vice-president/commercial lender. He is married to Debbie and has two boys, who are in high school and middle school respectively in the Springfield School District. |
