Want to improve Springfield’s waterways and enjoy the outdoors? Join Springfield’s Stream Team and see the impact of your efforts immediately by cleaning up litter, planting native vegetation, and removing invasive plants. Both individuals and service groups are encouraged to volunteer. Gloves, tools and guidance are provided. Projects occur along Springfield’s streams, bioswales and rivers.

Looking for a volunteer project for your group or company? We can work with you to plan an event around your schedule and interests. Email WaterResources@springfield-or.gov to set up a volunteer opportunity for your group.

Stream Team Volunteer Opportunities
For all cleanups: Water, snacks, tools, and gloves will be provided. Please bring a water bottle and dress appropriately for the weather. Close-toed shoes are required.

Saturday, June 9, 10 a.m. - noon
Remove invasive teasel along the Mill Race Path. Park at the Booth Kelly Trailhead (South B Street) and follow signs down the path to where we will be working.

Saturday, July 14, 10 a.m. - noon
Pull and cut invasive scotch broom along the Mill Race Path. Park at the Jasper Road Trailhead (Jasper Road and 32nd Street) and follow the signs to where we will be working.

Saturday, September 22, 10 a.m. - noon
Plant native vegetation along the north bank of the Mill Race, next to the Swanson Mill. Parking details TBD.
