The City of Springfield manages administrative services for the Regional Wastewater Program (RWP) under a contract with the Metropolitan Wastewater Management Commission (MWMC). Springfield provides the following administrative functions: coordination and management of wastewater public policy; coordination and management of regulatory and permit compliance issues; coordination between MWMC and the governing bodies; long-range capital project planning and construction management; coordination of public information, education, and citizen involvement programs; sewer customer service; and coordination and development of regional budgets, rate proposals, and revenue projections.
