Pollution Prevention / Environmental Management

 

Environmental Services Division staff coordinate the city pollution prevention activities in cooperation with the Pollution Prevention Coalition (P2C) of Lane County. The mission of the P2C is to provide useful, coordinated education messages and technical assistance to the community - serving citizens and businesses as a resource for ways to prevent pollution. The Environmental Services Division seeks to foster pollution prevention as the preferred environmental protection strategy, and to support / promote similar efforts within the private sector, and at the community level.

The Environmental Services Division promotes and protects the public's health, safety and welfare by providing professional leadership in the protection of the local environment, collaborating with other agencies to develop cost-effective strategies to achieve environmental goals, and educating the community regarding environmental regulations and the stewardship of local environmental resources.
