Springfield's Mill Race Springfield's Mill Race Restoration Project Springfield's Mill Race
Springfield's Mill Race

For over 150 years, the Springfield Mill Race has been a part of Springfield's heritage. This historic waterway flows from the Middle Fork of the Willamette, near Clearwater Park, along the southern portions of downtown Springfield, and rejoin the Willamette at Island Park.

After many years of planning by the City & its community partners, the Corps of Engineers will begin working to restore the Mill Race. This project, scheduled to start in the summer of 2004, will result in a stable water flow for salmon habitat, improved opportunities for education & public access, and revitalization of downtown businesses.
