The Kathy Jensen Gallery will be featuring the original model on loan from the Evergreen Aviation Museum of the WORLD’S Largest Wooden Aircraft “the Spruce Goose”. The aircraft was designed to fly trans-Atlantic to avoid the WWII German submarines that were sinking allied ships. To produce the giant, Hughes and his staff worked from 1942 – 1947, spending $18,000,000.00 federal dollars and $7,000,000.00 of his own money. Completed in 1947, after the end of the war the winged giant flew only once on November 2, 1947 piloted by Hughes himself during a taxi test.

Also featured will be items on loan from the American Rosie the Riveter Association – McKenzie Oregon Charter, Oregon Air & Space Museum, Eugene, Oregon and also many photos and art work from local pilots from WWII, Korean and Viet Nam Wars.
