Summary
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the general
supervision of the Court Supervisor, performs clerical court work involving
the monitoring and processing of financial and quantitative transactions
of court cases to include accounts payable/receivable, dispersal of
fees, and record balancing. Performs related duties as required.
Essential Duties
1. Performs varied
clerical and technical work, and maintains court case records by reviewing
and posting all relevant information; coordinates with other co-workers,
judges, attorneys, other City departments, other agencies, and the public.
2. Completes financial
tasks involving the monitoring and processing of transactions to include
the following: cash receipting, records balancing and reconciliation;
collects, sorts and posts funds, receipts, and other documents as part
of the specific unit assignments and objectives.
3. Participates
in the control, issuance, entry, and clearance of warrants by reviewing
case records, and entering and removing the warrants in computer files.
4. May collect moneys
through telephone and personal contact using knowledge of office collection
procedures.
5. Types lists,
reports, forms, statements and other numerical information; types memos,
letters and other narrative documents as required; enters and receives
information using unit computers.
6. Operates office
machines to include computers, calculators, photocopiers, FAX machines,
and typewriters.
7. Notates Oregon
State Bureau Fingerprint Disposition cards when case is completed, and
forwards the card to the Bureau and the Police Department; maintains
records and files for accessible storage and retrieval.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
General Knowledge,
Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of court
procedures, rules and regulations; knowledge of filing and general office
procedures; knowledge of basic bookkeeping concepts and techniques;
knowledge of capabilities of a computer information system as it relates
to financial and court recordkeeping; ability to work harmoniously with
co-workers, members of the legal profession and other government agencies,
law enforcement personnel and the general public; ability to operate
unit office equipment to include computers, calculators, photocopy and
FAX machines, and typewriters; ability to type sufficiently to perform
the duties of the position; ability to maintain orderly records and
files; ability to learn City and other organizational structures as
they relate to Municipal Court operations; ability to work within the
time constraints associated with legal processes; ability to provide
consistent customer service in all situations, to include occasionally
hostile or abusive citizens; ability to travel as required.
Experience and
Training
One year of experience
in financial recordkeeping and/or the administrative support of court
operations. An Associates Degree in a job-related field, or completion
of specific job-related courses in a business school program, may be
substituted for all or part of the required experience, or any combination
of training, education, and experience that provides the required knowledge,
skills, and abilities.

have a valid State of Oregon driver's license at the time of appointment.
