Springfield's
Stormwater Permit
Springfield's stormwater discharges are regulated under the National Pollutant
Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) program of the Federal Clean Water
Act. The Department of Environmental Quality has issued Springfield a permit
for these discharges, along with a requirement to address specific areas
recognized as sources of stormwater pollution. Our Stormwater Management
Plan outlines the measures the City will take, in each of the following

The Water Resources Section helps coordinate water quality efforts throughout the City's organization. Engineering, Planning, and Maintenance staff all contribute their skills to support clean water projects that make our community waterways safe, healthful resources for Springfield's citizens.
