The Springfield 2010 State of the City Address took place January 6 at the Richard E. Wildish Theater at 630 Main Street in Downtown Springfield. Read Mayor Sid Leiken's speech and see the pod cast.

Springfield hosted a community celebration to mark the official ground-breaking of the Springfield Mill Race Ecosystem Restoration project on August 11, 2009 at Clearwater Park.  A local and federal contingent of key officials and representatives attended, including Willamalane Board President Greg James,  Colonel Stephen Miles, Senator Ron Wyden, Mayor Sid Leiken and Congressman Peter DeFazio. As the Mayor of the City of Springfield, and on behalf of its citizens, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the City of Springfield web site.

The City of Springfield municipal agency offers a wide variety of services to the local community as well as ongoing intergovernmental cooperation with our regional partners. The City operates on a council form of government, with a Mayor and six councilors, all volunteer positions.
